The Marsh Marigold is to be found all over the country, growing in damp meadows and in ditches. Blooming season is in May. The flower itself is regarded as one of the most primitive in the Swedish flora. In times past, people used the flower buds as a substitute spice for capers, which is not recommended, as all marigold plants are relatively poisonous. Photo: Christer Svensk |
