Among the animals grazing the lake-side meadows of Asköviken are cows of the Highland cattle breed. They originate from the bleak reaches of the Scottish Highlands, where they have lived ever since the sixth century. Highland Cattle are robust cows, they are not fussy as regards grazing and they are resistant to disease. The perfect caretakers for the lake-side meadows of Asköviken!
